Hugh works with SIL internal business units to help them articulate the services they provide and then to visualize those as web based interactions on SIL.org.

This involves:

  • a lot of talking and listening
  • understanding the big picture goals
  • understanding how website users behave
  • understanding technologies and their relationship to business goals
  • helping business unit directors envision and understand how web technology benefits their operations
  • implementing concepts with lots of details for users who only want certain details at certain times
  • mapping out the pathway for website users as they engage with web services
  • being aware and using design to productively affect website user’s emotional connections and responses to services

For the first 6 months Hugh worked with International Language Program Training (ILPT) to help them bring their services to SIL.org. Their site is currently at sil.org/training
